Bay Area Museums
When was the last time you visited a museum in the city you live in? It’s been a while, right? Museums are a great way to spend a rainy, cold, winter day. The Bay Area has a variety of museums with exhibits for everyone. Here are some of the best:
de Young Museum - One of the most popular museums in the Bay Area, and for good reason. This winter they have exhibits ranging from Botticelli Drawings to Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style, and Lhola Amira: Facing the Future
California Academy of Sciences - Here you will find an aquarium, a planetarium, a rainforest, and a natural history museum all in one. They also have adult-only nights on Thursdays with a DJ and drinks.
Oakland Museum of California - You will find artifacts and interactive displays focusing on art, history, and science. This winter they have six different features and exhibitions you can view.
The Exploratorium - This public learning laboratory where you can explore the world through science, art, and human perception. They also have adult-only nights on Thursdays with drinks and a DJ.
SFMOMA - You could literally spend all day exploring SFMOMA’s 15 exhibits on their 7 floors. Tickets do sell fast though, so you might want to plan a visit in advance.
Asian Art Museum - They have three totally different exhibits you can view including Murakami: Monsterized.
