Peach Crisp

Fruit crisps are some of the easiest desserts to make, so even if you feel like you “can’t bake”, I promise you can make this.

Head to your local farmers market (or the grocery store) while peaches are in season and grab 6 large or 8 medium peaches (you will need 8 cups sliced peaches). While you are there grab any of the other ingredients you will need.

  • 8 cups of peeled and thinly sliced peaches

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder (you can also use cornstarch)

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • pinch of salt

  • 3/4 cups packed light brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup room temperature butter (I used salted, but unsalted works too)

  • 1 3/4 cups old-fashioned oats

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees

First, you will peel and slice the peaches. You should have about 8 cups of sliced peaches when you are done.

Then you will mix the sliced peaches with the 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 tablespoon of arrowroot powder, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Once that is mixed well you can put it in an 8x8 baking dish (make sure it’s greased)

For the topping, you will mix together the 1/2 cup butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/2 cup flour. I used my stand mixer, but a spatula or 2 forks work too. Mix it until it feels like wet sand.

Then add in the 1 3/4 cup oats and mix well.

Top the peaches with the oats mixture and bake for 20-25 minutes at 400.

You can serve warm, or cold. My preference is warm with a little vanilla ice cream.
